What is a Node?
A node represents a task you want to complete.
Nodes are made to capture the most important details of the tasks you want to achieve.
Fields
Name (Mandatory)
The name is somewhat self explanitory. It is the name you want to give a node.
The name is the only mandatory field needed for a node to exist in a diagram. Names must be unique within a diagram.
Description
The description field allows more information to be available in the node so that all users can understand the purpose of the node existing.
Due Date
The due date field allows users to set a due date for when the node is expected to be completed.
When a node's due date has passed, the node will appear red. See What do the colours mean? for more detail on what the node colours mean.
In addition to changing to a red colour, all users who have access to the diagram will get a due date notification reminding them about the due date set.
Completed Date
The completed date field records the date in which a node is completed. When the completed date field is populated, the node will be displayed in green.
On the user interface, it will show only the date, though the datetime will be recorded in the system if something is needed to be verified.
If a task is reoccurring, the completed date field can be set to reset (be marked as not completed) using the Completed Date Reset Schedule field.
Notes
The notes field is a place for people to add extra details about a node.
This field is also how you mark a node as not needed, and will be shown as grey - See What do the colours mean. In order to mark a node as Not Needed, simply add the text "Not Needed" in the Notes field.
Parent Links
Nodes connect to each other to create DAG diagrams via parent links.
Parent links can be selected via a drop down with other nodes as options to be added as a parent node for the selected node.
Completed Date Reset Schedule
This field defines a schedule in which a node's Completed Date value should be reset.
